Advanced Practice Nurse

A recruitment and retention incentive will be provided to frontline nursing roles, including Nurse Practitioners and Midwives, within the Northwest Territories Health and Social Services Authority. The selected candidates will receive an initial incentive upon hiring, with an additional incentive after completing a year of continuous service, contingent upon remaining in an eligible role for another year. This incentive is a taxable benefit and will be subject to standard deductions. The incentive amounts are as follows:
- Yellowknife: $5000
- Inuvik & Fort Smith: $6000
- All Other NWT Communities: $7000

Position Overview
We are seeking dedicated and proactive Nurse Practitioners eager to enhance their careers in the realm of remote northern healthcare. The primary responsibility of the Nurse Practitioner is to elevate client health outcomes and ensure comprehensive care that addresses mental, emotional, and physical well-being. Emphasis is placed on community engagement and health promotion, alongside advanced expertise in assessment, nursing and medical diagnosis, treatment management, pharmacotherapy, and collaborative functions with physicians, pharmacists, and other healthcare providers.

- Yellowknife, Primary Health Care Nurse Practitioner, Continuing Care (2 full-time indeterminate positions)
Compensation and Benefits
- Competitive Salary: $120,178 – $143,559/year or $73.62/hr
- Northern Living Allowance: Varies by community, ranging from $3,700 - $36,871/year
