Position Overview


As a Nursing Education Specialist, your primary responsibilities will include overseeing, planning, designing, and implementing essential clinical training for healthcare professionals across various units, including Nursing, Diagnostic Imaging, Laboratory, Respiratory, Pharmacy, Health Records, and Rehabilitation.

You will conduct assessments to identify educational needs, develop comprehensive training programs, and deliver these programs to all employees of Stanton Territorial Hospital (STH).

These educational offerings will also extend to nursing students from Aurora College and staff from other health authorities and regions. You will instruct and/or coordinate the delivery of over 30 mandatory certification courses for STH personnel, with each course being offered multiple times throughout the year to accommodate varying schedules and operational needs.

In addition, you will demonstrate patient care techniques at the bedside, ensuring proper skill execution and equipment placement.

Your role will also involve setting up and relocating educational equipment in classrooms and off-site venues.

Facilitating diverse groups of learners with varying backgrounds and experiences will be essential, requiring you to adapt to the unique learning needs of each participant.

Moreover, you will be responsible for writing and refining educational programs, producing various reports, and maintaining multiple instructor certifications for nationally recognized training programs.

As a role model, you will promote evidence-based practices and the advancement of clinical competencies.


Qualifications:

A Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, supplemented by education in adult learning methodologies, along with five (5) years of experience in acute care nursing.
