Advanced Practice Nurse Opportunity

A recruitment and retention incentive will be provided to frontline nursing roles, including Nurse Practitioners and Midwives, within the Northwest Territories Health and Social Services Authority. The successful candidates will receive an initial incentive upon hiring, with an additional incentive after completing 12 months of continuous service, contingent on remaining in an eligible role for another 12 months. This incentive is a taxable benefit and will be subject to applicable deductions. The community-specific incentive amounts are as follows:
- Yellowknife: $5000
- Inuvik & Fort Smith: $6000
- All Other NWT Communities: $7000

Position Summary
We are seeking dedicated and self-driven Nurse Practitioners to enhance their careers in the realm of remote northern healthcare. The primary focus of the Nurse Practitioner role is to enhance patient health and ensure comprehensive care that addresses mental, emotional, and physical well-being. Emphasis is placed on community health development and promotion, along with advanced expertise in assessment, nursing and medical diagnosis, treatment management, drug therapy, and referral processes in collaboration with physicians, pharmacists, and other healthcare providers.

- Tuktoyaktuk, Primary Care Nurse Practitioner
- Yellowknife, Primary Health Care Nurse Practitioner (1 full-time term position)
- Yellowknife, Primary Health Care Nurse Practitioner, Continuing Care (2 full-time indeterminate positions)
Compensation and Benefits
- Competitive Salary: $120,178 – $143,559/year or $73.62/hr
- Northern Living Allowance: Varies by community, ranging from $3,700 - $36,871/year
