Risk Assessment and Hazard Analysis Specialist

Position Overview
Reporting to the Lead of Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment, the Risk Assessment and Hazard Analysis Specialist will be instrumental in advancing the Government of Alberta's HIRA initiative.
This role involves conducting thorough research, providing analytical insights, and offering strategic guidance in the realms of hazard evaluation, risk analysis, and vulnerability assessment. The primary objective is to enhance the Government of Alberta's capacity for disaster risk identification, assessment, and resilience building.
The Specialist will engage with various stakeholders, both within the government and externally, and support the HIRA Team's participation in collaborative efforts and discussions with these parties. They will also assist in addressing inquiries or concerns that may arise during the development and execution of a provincial HIRA.
By investigating and assessing methodologies and frameworks utilized in other regions, the Specialist will deliver recommendations on relevant issues, initiatives, and regulatory structures to pinpoint best practices and identify areas needing enhancement.
