Job Summary

The Capital Financial Analyst will support the portfolio management team with reporting, analysis, and documentation of capital budgets and expenses. This role will manage cross-departmental relationships to support budget and resource management processes within the company's capital governance and financial forecasting for in-year and longer-term plans.

Key Responsibilities

  • Facilitate ongoing discussions between the finance department, asset inventory, and capital portfolio management.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and regulatory requirements related to assets under construction and fixed assets.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements in asset, capital management, and reporting.
  • Oversee the proper closure of capital projects with regards to asset retirement or deployment and ensuring timely service time of assets under construction.
  • Offer timely support to special projects involving capital-related topics.
  • Participate fully in our organizational health and safety programs, adhering to all safe work practices and procedures and staying focused on continuous improvement.
  • Timely completion of all administrative tasks, including time reporting, expense reporting, and submission of corporate card statements, as applicable.

Requirements

Education and Experience

A degree in finance or accounting with one year of experience in budgeting and analysis. A combination of relevant education and experience will be considered.

Skills and Abilities

Advanced Excel abilities are required. Understanding and experience with data management tools. Above-average interpersonal, relationship management, oral and written communication, and listening skills, as well as the ability to negotiate and solve problems.

Working Conditions

This position works in a typical office environment with moderate periods of sustained mental concentration and visual effort. Due to the nature of the duties, longer hours than normal may be required at certain times of the year when working towards deadlines and in support of month-end work cycles.
