At Yukon, we are a dynamic team of professionals dedicated to the tourism, arts, museums, heritage, historic sites, and archival communities. We are seeking a skilled Financial Analyst to join our team.

Your Impact

The Financial Analyst will be responsible for preparing financial statements and reports, budget controls, and other means of financial reporting to support program areas and/or branches. This challenging and rewarding position requires conducting research, analysis, and interpretation of financial activities to detect discrepancies, potential implications, and risks, and identifying solutions to mitigate or correct, as required.

The successful candidate will prepare departmental submissions, including program and departmental objectives, variances, supplementary budgets, year-end activities, business plans, and annual reports. Additionally, they will provide support, training, and advice to department staff on all financial activities.

Essential Qualifications

  • Coursework in accounting and/or financial management.
  • Considerable experience in financial analysis, forecasting, reporting, and providing options and recommendations to management and decision-makers.
  • Considerable experience researching, analyzing and interpreting legislation and/or policies and procedures to make decisions and provide advice and recommendations.
  • Experience using financial systems and Microsoft applications, including Excel.
  • Experience in preparing and monitoring contracts and contribution agreements in a government environment.

Candidates who have education, training, and/or experience equivalent to the essential qualifications listed above will be equally considered.
