We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Custodial Services Associate to join our team at School District #50 (Haida Gwaii).

Job Summary:

The Custodial Services Associate is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, security, and energy conservation of our facilities. This includes receiving direction from the Working Foreman and carrying out requests from school staff. The ideal candidate will have a Grade 12 level of education and previous training or experience in janitorial procedures. They will also possess the ability to read and comprehend written instructions, use products safely, and operate janitorial equipment properly. Additionally, they will be able to meet and deal tactfully with students, staff, and the public. The position requires the capability to perform tasks such as lifting, pushing, holding, reaching, bending, and carrying. The Custodial Services Associate will work independently but be cooperative with peers when major tasks are encountered. They will also be trained in WCB Level I First Aid or better.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain the cleanliness, security, and energy conservation of our facilities

Working Conditions:

The position is primarily indoors but occasionally requires going outside and performing unpleasant tasks. The Custodial Services Associate must be able to work alone but be cooperative with peers when major tasks are encountered.
