Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct laboratory testing for asphalt materials, including CCIL Type B Certified Superpave and Marshall asphalt testing.
  • Participate in proficiency tests and maintain necessary laboratory certifications.
  • Perform certified testing accurately and efficiently.
  • Gather and interpret data, ensuring precise reporting of test results.
  • Maintain equipment calibration and perform general housekeeping to ensure a safe work environment.
  • Engage in quality audits and report any non-conformances to the Lab Lead.
  • Manage the shipping, receiving, and storage of samples.
  • Assist in ordering and restocking laboratory supplies as needed.
  • Collaborate with office staff, including field technicians and administrative personnel.

Qualifications:

  • Completion of post-secondary education in Civil Engineering/Technology or a related field.
  • 3 to 5 years of experience with CCIL certified Marshall and/or SuperPave testing methods.
  • Knowledge of standardized lab testing procedures (MTO, ASTM, AASHTO).
  • Experience with CCIL laboratory certification processes and equipment maintenance.
  • Strong time management, organizational, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, with skills in data entry and report generation.
  • Safety-conscious with an understanding of workplace health and safety procedures.
  • Current CCIL certification is preferred.
