Ideal Candidate Profile:

The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of substance use and its implications, as well as knowledge of adolescent cognitive, social, emotional, and interpersonal development. Proficiency in Motivational Interviewing (MI) techniques, group facilitation, experiential education, crisis intervention, and suicide risk assessment is essential.


Key Responsibilities:

This role presents an exciting opportunity to contribute to an innovative program, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive mental health and substance use services for children and youth aged 0-19 years and their families.

The MHSU Clinician will play a crucial role within the Integrated Child and Youth Team (ICY).

The Substance Use Clinician will be part of the broader Hospitals & Communities Integrated Services (HCIS) healthcare team, focusing on ensuring timely and evidence-based treatment for individuals facing substance use challenges or concurrent disorders.

The clinician will deliver advanced-level assessment, treatment, service coordination, and urgent responses for complex clients, often dealing with co-occurring disorders and significant functional impairments across various life domains.

As a primary clinician, the Substance Use Clinician will employ a range of specialized treatment modalities and therapies tailored for individuals, groups, and families.

Scheduling Information:

Standard working hours are from 08:30 to 16:30.
