Job Summary

Interior Health Authority is seeking a permanent full-time Rural Adult Mental Health and Substance Use Clinician to join the Mental Health Adult Short-Term Assessment and Treatment (ASTAT) team at the Osoyoos Health Centre.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments and develop treatment plans for adults and elderly individuals with serious mental disorders and/or substance use problems.
  • Provide short-term individual and group psychotherapy, psychogeriatric support, and collaborative community planning.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure responsive and sensitive assessment and treatment services.
  • Develop and implement crisis intervention strategies and provide urgent response intervention to individuals in acute crisis.
  • Consult with other care providers and coordinate services for adults and elderly individuals with mental health and/or substance use problems.
Requirements
  • Strong assessment and treatment skills.
  • Human caring and relationship-centered approach to practice.
  • Ability to work effectively in a rural setting.
