Ideal Candidate Profile:

The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of substance use issues and their impacts, along with knowledge of adolescent cognitive, social, emotional, and interpersonal development. Proficiency in Motivational Interviewing (MI), group facilitation, experiential education, crisis intervention, and suicide risk assessment is essential.


Key Responsibilities:

This role presents an exciting opportunity to contribute to an innovative program, collaborating with colleagues to provide comprehensive mental health and substance use services for children and youth aged 0-19 years and their families.

The MHSU Clinician will be an integral member of the Integrated Child and Youth Team (ICY).

The Substance Use Clinician will also collaborate within the broader Hospitals & Communities Integrated Services (HCIS) healthcare team, focusing on delivering timely, evidence-based treatment and clinical support for individuals facing substance use challenges or concurrent disorders.

The clinician will provide advanced-level assessment, treatment, service coordination, and urgent responses for complex cases, often involving co-occurring disorders and significant functional impairments across various life domains.

Utilizing a range of specialized treatment modalities, the Substance Use Clinician will work with individuals, groups, and families to deliver effective therapeutic interventions.

Scheduling Details:

Standard shift hours are from 08:30 to 16:30.
