Health and Wellness Supervisor

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Health and Wellness Supervisor to lead our Aquatic Programs team at the YMCA Greater Toronto. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the delivery of high-quality aquatic programs and services that meet the needs of our members and the community.
Key Responsibilities- Provide leadership and supervision to aquatic programs and services, including the YMCA Swim Program and Junior Lifeguard Program.
- Recruit, train, and coach YMCA staff and volunteers to deliver aquatic programs and services.
- Monitor the safety of all aquatic activities and programs, and respond promptly to any safety concerns.
- Conduct audits to ensure compliance with YMCA standards and regulations.
- Develop and implement membership services in assigned areas, ensuring alignment with SAM and EYE standards.
- Act as the Pool Operator, ensuring compliance with Ontario Health Regulations 565.
- Provide leadership and training on AED, First Aid, and CPR, including staff, volunteers, and participants.
- Ensure the safety of all members, property, and staff by following established Workplace Health & Safety practices and procedures.
- Support the staff team as a Service Leader, representing the YMCA Centre and the Association.
- Post-secondary education in Physical Education, Kinesiology, Recreation Leadership, or a related field.
- Recommended minimum 2 years of instructing and supervisory experience.
- National Lifeguarding Service Award.
- Other recognized swim instructor qualifications (Red Cross, LSS).
- Current First Aid/CPR/AED certifications.
- YMCA Swim Instructor Certification (an asset).
- Aquatic Supervisory Training (an asset).
- Instructor/Examiner qualifications (an asset).
- Well-developed interpersonal and relationship-building skills, with excellent communication and written communication skills.
- Flexibility regarding assigned working hours, evenings, and weekends.
- Excellent understanding of diversity, inclusion, and equity, including the ability to identify and address barriers, work effectively with diverse stakeholders, and integrate equity into program design.
