Job Summary

The Budget and Financial Analyst will be responsible for preparing comprehensive financial reports and analysis, providing insights to support informed decision making, and contributing to the development of the BC Housing operating plan. This role will involve preparing complex financial models, providing support in quarterly and annual budget exercises, and analyzing financial data to inform business decisions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain financial models and reports to support business decision making
  • Prepare and analyze financial data to inform budgeting and forecasting processes
  • Provide financial analysis and insights to support business decisions
  • Contribute to the development of the BC Housing operating plan
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and effective communication

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business, economics, accounting, finance, or a relevant field
  • Considerable work experience in a high-volume computerized financial accounting environment
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to learn and understand mission-critical corporate enterprise applications and IT systems
  • Ability to exercise attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks under tight deadlines

Preferred Qualifications

  • Completed or in-progress CPA designation
  • Considerable knowledge of budgeting and financial reporting functions within the public sector environment
  • Knowledge of government decision-making and policy development processes and structures
