Position: Family Lawyer
Responsibilities:
- Independently manage family law files, ensuring timely and effective resolution of complex matters.
- Handle a wide range of family law matters, including separation agreements, spousal maintenance, and asset division, with a focus on delivering exceptional results.
- Conduct hearings, discoveries, mediations, and trials, utilizing strong communication and negotiation skills to achieve successful outcomes.
- Instruct support staff and receive instructions from clients, fostering a collaborative and client-centric approach.
- Draft pleadings and speak to chamber applications, demonstrating expertise in family law procedures and protocols.
- Negotiate at mediations and appear at trials, leveraging strong analytical and problem-solving skills to resolve disputes.
- Manage all aspects of a file from beginning to end, ensuring seamless and efficient case management.
- Experience in general civil litigation is an asset, as it provides a solid foundation for handling complex family law matters.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 3 years of current experience in British Columbia family law practice, with a strong track record of success.
- Ability to handle challenging work and manage files independently, with a focus on delivering high-quality results.
- Strong judgment, work ethic, and interpersonal skills, with a ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
- Desire to become part of the community served, with a commitment to providing exceptional service and support.
- Enthusiasm for growing practice and working towards partnership, with a focus on long-term career development.
- Ability to live in Vancouver or Victoria and commute to the other location 2-3 days per week, with a flexible and adaptable approach to work arrangements.
Compensation:
- Base salary depending on the year of call, with a competitive compensation package that reflects the firm's commitment to attracting and retaining top talent.
