Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Family Lawyer to join our team in Victoria. As a Family Lawyer, you will be responsible for independently managing family law files, handling a wide range of family law matters, and conducting hearings, discoveries, mediations, and trials.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage family law files from beginning to end, including separation agreements, spousal maintenance, and asset division.
  • Conduct hearings, discoveries, mediations, and trials, and instruct support staff and receive instructions from clients.
  • Draft pleadings and speak to chamber applications, and negotiate at mediations and appear at trials.
  • Experience in general civil litigation is an asset.
Requirements
  • Minimum of 3 years of current experience in British Columbia family law practice.
  • Ability to handle challenging work and manage files independently.
  • Strong judgment, work ethic, and interpersonal skills.
  • Desire to become part of the community served.
  • Enthusiasm for growing practice and working towards partnership.
  • Ability to live in Vancouver or Victoria and commute to the other location 2-3 days per week.
Compensation
  • Base salary depending on the year of call.
