We are seeking a highly skilled Produce Department Supervisor to join our team at Freshco. As a key member of our produce team, you will be responsible for supervising staff, assigning sales workers to duties, and ensuring the smooth operation of our produce department.
Key Responsibilities- Supervise and coordinate the activities of produce staff, ensuring efficient and effective workflow.
- Assign sales workers to duties, taking into account their skills and experience.
- Hire and train new staff members, or arrange for their training.
- Establish and manage work schedules to meet business needs.
- Prepare and submit reports on sales volumes, merchandising, and personnel matters.
- Resolve customer complaints, supply shortages, and other issues that may arise.
- Organize and maintain inventory, ensuring accurate stock levels and efficient stockroom operations.
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of office and volunteer staff.
- Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
- 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a supervisory or management role.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle heavy loads.
- Attention to detail and ability to multitask.
- Reliability, dependability, and a strong work ethic.
This is a permanent, full-time position with a 30-40 hour workweek. The work environment is fast-paced and requires the ability to handle heavy loads and work in a combination of sitting, standing, and walking.
