Position Overview

The Ophthalmic Medical Assistant plays a crucial role in supporting ophthalmologists and ensuring efficient patient care. This position requires a dedicated individual with a strong focus on patient interaction and administrative duties.

Qualifications
  • Education: Completion of secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Experience: Previous experience is considered an asset, or equivalent experience in a related field.
Key Responsibilities
  • Administer prescribed eye drops, ointments, and medications as instructed by ophthalmologists.
  • Assist healthcare professionals in various clinical tasks.
  • Utilize ophthalmic testing and measuring equipment effectively.
  • Manage appointment scheduling and confirmations.
  • Gather and document patients' comprehensive medical and ophthalmic histories.
  • Oversee routine office operations, including reception duties and telephone management.
  • Supervise clerical staff engaged in filing, typing, and record-keeping tasks.

  • Must be legally authorized to work in Canada.
