Position Overview

The Ophthalmic Medical Assistant plays a crucial role in supporting ophthalmologists and ensuring the smooth operation of the clinic. This position involves a variety of responsibilities aimed at providing exceptional patient care.

Qualifications
  • Education: Completion of secondary school or equivalent experience is required.
  • Experience: Previous experience in a similar role is considered an asset.
Key Responsibilities
  • Administer prescribed eye medications and treatments as instructed by ophthalmologists.
  • Assist healthcare professionals in delivering quality patient care.
  • Utilize ophthalmic testing and measurement equipment effectively.
  • Manage appointment scheduling and confirmations.
  • Gather and document patients' medical and ophthalmic histories.
  • Oversee routine office tasks, including reception duties and appointment bookings.
  • Supervise clerical staff in their filing, typing, and record-keeping responsibilities.
