SUMMARY

ROME GROUP is seeking an experienced Payroll & Benefits Manager to oversee our payroll and benefits administration. This role will involve managing all payroll and benefits operations, collaborating closely with the finance and operations team.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Human Resources and Payroll Management

  • Maintain and update employee records within our payroll and benefits systems.
  • Conduct internal audits to ensure the accuracy and promptness of employee data.
  • Process semi-monthly payroll for both regular and seasonal staff utilizing our payroll software.
  • Lead the annual Benefits Open Enrollment process, working with brokers and administrators to facilitate smooth enrollment.
  • Configure and manage earnings, deductions, time policies, and classifications in the payroll system.
  • Oversee background checks and compliance processes.
  • Revise the employee handbook as necessary.
  • Prepare for annual audits, assist with salary budgeting, and prepare necessary financial documents.

Employee Engagement and Support

  • Enhance payroll and benefits processes through continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Provide guidance to employees on navigating payroll systems and understanding benefits.
  • Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll and benefits, empowering them with self-service tools.
  • Advise employees on eligibility and enrollment for insurance and retirement plans, and collaborate with carriers to resolve issues.
  • Manage the onboarding process effectively using our recruitment and onboarding tools.

Financial Management

  • Oversee the electronic processing of accounts receivable and charitable contributions.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, business administration, human resources, or a related field. Relevant experience may also be considered.
  • 3-7 years of experience in payroll, human resources, or benefits administration.
  • Proficient in payroll software and related systems.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, with strong analytical skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Commitment to confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Proactive problem solver with strong analytical capabilities.
  • Experience in process improvement and systems implementation is preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills for onboarding, training, and relationship building.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other computer applications.
