Position Title: Clinical Speech Pathologist

Department: Rehabilitation Services

Union: MGEU Prof Tech

Shift Requirements: Days, with potential for evenings, weekends, and statutory holidays

As a vital member of the multidisciplinary rehabilitation team, the Clinical Speech Pathologist will report directly to the Manager of Health Services – Rehabilitation Services. This role demands a high level of autonomy and expertise.

The successful candidate will engage in the planning, implementation, and assessment of rehabilitation services, adopting a client-centered and goal-oriented methodology tailored for both pediatric and adult demographics.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Conducting assessments and providing direct intervention.
  • Offering consultation and educational training for parents, caregivers, and the public.
  • Delivering services across various environments, including acute care, outpatient facilities, long-term care, clients' residences, educational institutions, and community settings.

Additionally, the Clinical Speech Pathologist may oversee and mentor students and provisional staff, contributing to the education of fellow health care professionals.

Essential qualifications include:

  • Active registration with the College of Audiologists and Speech-Language Pathologists of Manitoba.
  • Eligibility for membership with Speech-Language and Audiology Canada.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and email applications.
  • Commitment to respecting and promoting cultural diversity.
  • Fluency in both official languages is required for designated bilingual roles.
  • Completion of a satisfactory Criminal Record Check, Vulnerable Sector Search, and relevant abuse registry checks.
  • Compliance with immunization requirements as per organizational policy.
  • A valid Class 5 driver's license and an insured vehicle with liability coverage of at least $1,000,000.
