Position OverviewThe role involves delivering high-quality Speech-Language Pathology services that align with professional standards. Responsibilities include:
- Prevention, identification, evaluation, assessment, diagnosis, counseling, treatment, management, and education of communication and swallowing disorders.
- Providing education and supervision to students and professionals.
- Consulting with and referring to other professionals as necessary.
- Engaging in research activities.
Maintaining professional accountability and exercising sound judgment while fostering effective communication and collaboration is essential.
Experience- Prior experience with the relevant population is preferred.
- A Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution is required.
- Active participation in relevant courses and workshops to meet continuing education requirements is expected.
- Registration with the College of Audiologists and Speech-Language Pathologists of Manitoba (CASLPM) is mandatory. Membership in other professional organizations is encouraged.
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) training must comply with applicable policies.
- Preference will be given to candidates with proficiency in an Indigenous language and/or knowledge of Indigenous customs, traditions, and values.
- May be required to work extended hours.
- Potential exposure to infectious diseases, blood and body fluids, radiation, toxic materials, noise, allergens, and physical and emotional stress.
- May encounter aggressive or agitated clients, staff, or visitors.
