Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Academic Leader in Nursing Education to join our team at Humber College. As a Professor of Nursing, you will play a key role in developing and delivering high-quality nursing education programs that meet the needs of our students and the healthcare industry.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement curriculum for nursing programs, ensuring alignment with industry standards and best practices.
  • Design and deliver engaging and effective teaching methods, utilizing current pedagogical principles and technologies.
  • Assess student progress and achievement, providing constructive feedback and guidance to support student success.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and maintain strong links with professional associations and practice settings.
  • Supervise work-integrated learning mandatory professional practicum clinical placement activities, ensuring a high-quality learning experience for students.
  • Participate in committees and related associations, contributing to the development of nursing education policies and practices.
Qualifications
  • Minimum graduate degree in Nursing - PhD in nursing or working towards obtaining a PhD.
  • Must be a Registered Nurse and member in good standing of the College of Nurses of Ontario.
  • Superior interpersonal communication, facilitation, and problem-solving skills, with a demonstrated ability to contribute positively to curriculum development.
  • A student-focused approach, utilizing engaging and effective teaching skills, with demonstrated ability to coach and support students while managing classroom dynamics.
  • Strong knowledge and application of current pedagogical principles, with a demonstrated commitment to fostering innovation and positive change.
  • Demonstrated commitment to and knowledge of principles of equity and inclusion, with a collaborative team player approach and a commitment to a positive team culture.
