Manager of Laboratory Services

Job Summary:
The Manager, Laboratory Operations will be responsible for the efficient and effective operation and management of the department at both administrative and technical levels.
Key Responsibilities:
- Overall service and/or technical excellence
- Utilization of resources
- Budget implementation and controls
- On-going performance and development of staff
Requirements:
- Knowledge of managerial leadership systems and continuous improvement practices preferably in laboratory environment
- Understanding of business and operational planning, including resource allocation and best practice customer service techniques
- BSc- Bio Chemistry or certified Medical Laboratory Technologist
- 7 to 10 years of previous managerial experience and demonstrated increased responsibility in a clinical environment
Working Conditions:
- Normal office environment
- Laboratory environment
- Prolonged sitting, some standing, telephone use, dexterity using keyboard use
- Working for long hours with flexibility of shift work
- Travel away from home
