As a key partner of the Marsh-Billings-Rockefeller National Historical Park, BF&M provides a rich and immersive experience for visitors of all ages.

About the Position

The Executive Vice President will serve as a key member of the museum's executive leadership team, providing strategic direction and oversight for the organization's operations, programs, and external affairs. This is a critical role that requires a seasoned leader with a proven track record of innovation, collaboration, and results-driven management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement strategic plans to drive growth and engagement, aligning with the museum's mission and vision.
  • Provide leadership and direction to the Education & Interpretation team, ensuring the delivery of high-quality programs and experiences that meet the needs of diverse audiences.
  • Collaborate with the external affairs team to develop and execute a comprehensive marketing and communications strategy, leveraging relationships with key stakeholders and partners.
  • Oversee the Operations & Programs teams, ensuring the effective management of the museum's daily operations, including retail and product areas.
  • Operate at an executive level, maintaining professional confidentiality and discretion.
Requirements

The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in museum or non-profit management, with a proven track record of success in leading teams, developing strategic plans, and driving results. Key qualifications include:

  • Eight+ years of experience in museum or non-profit management.
  • Proven success in managing and motivating staff with diverse work responsibilities.
  • Demonstrated success in overseeing and delivering strategic objectives over a multi-year period.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to develop and implement integrated marketing and communications strategies.
Additional Qualifications a Plus

Familiarity with best practices at outdoor history museums and sites, as well as experience in marketing/public relations and membership and annual fund programs, are highly desirable.
