About the Position

The Executive Vice President will serve as a key member of the museum's executive leadership team, providing strategic direction and oversight for the organization's operations and programs. This is a critical role that requires a seasoned leader with a proven track record of success in managing complex organizations and driving growth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Strategic Planning: Collaborate with the President/Executive Director and the Woodstock Foundation Board to develop and implement the museum's strategic plan, ensuring alignment with the organization's mission and goals.
  • Leadership and Management: Provide exceptional leadership and direction to the museum's Education & Interpretation, Operations & Programs, Advancement, and Marketing teams, ensuring a culture of excellence and high performance.
  • Program Development: Oversee the development and implementation of engaging programs and events that attract and retain visitors, including exhibitions, educational programs, and community outreach initiatives.
  • Marketing and Communications: Develop and implement a comprehensive marketing and communications strategy that showcases the museum's mission, programs, and achievements to a diverse audience.
  • Partnerships and Collaborations: Foster strong relationships with key stakeholders, including the Woodstock Inn & Resort and MBRNHP, to leverage opportunities for collaboration and growth.
  • Financial Management: Oversee the development and implementation of the museum's budget, ensuring fiscal responsibility and sustainability.
Requirements
  • Leadership Experience: 8+ years of experience in a senior leadership role, preferably in a museum or non-profit organization.
  • Strategic Thinking: Proven ability to develop and implement strategic plans that drive growth and innovation.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Excellent collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Financial Management: Strong financial management skills, with experience in budget development and implementation.
  • Marketing and Communications: Proven ability to develop and implement effective marketing and communications strategies.
