Billings Farm & Museum is a premier outdoor museum and historic site, offering a unique blend of educational programs, exhibits, and farm experiences. As a key partner of the Marsh-Billings-Rockefeller National Historical Park, we are committed to preserving and sharing the history and culture of the region.

About the Position

We are seeking an experienced and innovative leader to serve as our Executive Vice President. This key role will be responsible for shaping the future direction of the museum, developing strategic plans, and overseeing the work of our Education & Interpretation, Operations & Programs, Advancement, and Marketing teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement institutional and strategic plans, working closely with the President/Executive Director and the Woodstock Foundation Board
  • Provide leadership and direction to the Education & Interpretation team, focusing on creative engagement strategies and program development
  • Guide the external affairs team in expanding relationships with key stakeholders, increasing fundraising, and strengthening marketing and public relations efforts
  • Oversee the Operations & Programs teams, including retail and product areas, and ensure exceptional service to museum visitors
Requirements
  • 8+ years of successful museum or non-profit management experience
  • Proven leadership abilities, including collaborative and team-oriented working styles
  • Demonstrated success in overseeing and delivering strategic objectives over a multi-year period
  • Excellent relationship-building skills, both internally and externally
  • Persuasive and articulate communicator with strong written and public speaking skills
Additional Qualifications a Plus
  • Familiarity with best practices at outdoor history museums and sites
  • Experience in marketing/public relations and with membership and annual fund programs
  • Master's degree in non-profit management, arts administration, museum studies, or similar field
