Capital Projects Coordinator

At Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge, we are seeking a highly skilled Capital Projects Coordinator to join our team. As a key member of our engineering department, you will be responsible for coordinating and managing capital projects from initiation to completion.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate and manage capital projects, including refurbishment and infrastructure projects
  • Work closely with the ownership group, project stakeholders, and hotel departments to ensure successful project execution
  • Assist department heads with planning, approvals, and workflows for operating and technology capital projects
  • Manage relationships with various departments and contractors to facilitate project coordination
  • Coordinate with hotel departments and contractors to minimize business interruption
  • Work with the Internal Communications Manager and Marketing team to ensure proper communications are relayed to staff and guests
  • Assist in gathering supporting information and preparing capital documents, business design briefs, and other required documents
  • Manage and track contractor packages, documentations, reservations, and health & safety protocols
  • Accurately process capital projects invoices and reconcile project budgets
Requirements:
  • Project management experience and understanding of project timelines and scopes
  • Strong understanding of hotel operations, including operating departments and core functions
  • Familiarity with facilities components and building systems (HVAC, electrical, building exteriors, etc.)
  • Excellent computer skills across all Microsoft Windows applications and ability to quickly learn internet-based computer applications
  • Excellent note-taking and digital archiving skills
  • Previous supervisory or leadership qualities demonstrated
  • Fundamental accounting and budget management experience
  • Strong interpersonal and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to organize and plan workload, adapt to shifting priorities and deadlines, and exercise good judgment and make sound decisions
Working Environment:

Fast-paced, upscale, luxury hotel with a close proximity to Marmot Basin Ski Resort in winter and world-renowned hiking trails in summer. Sitting: 2-4 hours/day, Walking: 2-4 hours/day, Standing: 2-4 hours/day, Bending/Reaching: 1-2 hours/day, Pushing/Pulling: 1-2 hours/day, Physical effort: strong, required to lift up to 50lbs on occasion, Environmental stress: busy atmosphere.

Must be legally eligible to work in Canada. The hotel is unable to assist candidates in obtaining Canadian work authorization.
