The Project Development Manager plays a crucial role in assisting the Director of Project Development by providing integrated technical guidance, management, and leadership in the administrative and technical planning and budgeting of a diverse portfolio of significant projects that influence various strategic core functions and components across Park Place Seniors Living's objectives. The key responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:

  1. Facilitating the integration of multiple major project operations to ensure cohesive, consistent, and effective support for Park Place Seniors Living's mission, vision, values, and strategic goals.
  2. Assisting the Director of Project Development with property acquisitions, building evaluations, oversight of new construction, execution of capital projects, and renovations.
  3. Contributing to the development of policies, strategies, and operational objectives aligned with the organization to ensure efficient execution of major projects tied to strategic priorities.
  4. Collaborating in the creation of RFPs and grant applications.
  5. Engaging in the development, implementation, and maintenance of individual project objectives and both short- and long-term plans; establishing tracking and evaluation systems to support the achievement of project goals.
  6. Supporting the management of a large, diverse maintenance team.
  7. Overseeing the relationships between project leadership, key business and operational stakeholders, and external parties.
  8. Working with Park Place Leadership and administration to set goals and priorities for business and technology solutions that meet the needs of individual homes and the organization.
  9. Assisting the Director of Project Development in managing complex, multifaceted project plans related to project development; conducting cost and productivity analyses.
  10. Recommending and participating in the formulation of Park Place policies and procedures and serving as Co-chair of the Corporate Facilities Maintenance Committee.
  11. Staying updated on Park Place Seniors Living's strategic directions and plans, as well as relevant cutting-edge systems and technologies.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

  1. Minimum of 3 years in construction project management (required)
  2. Technical certification/diploma (required)
  3. Project management professional certification (preferred)
  4. Equivalent education and training may be considered

REQUIRED ELEMENTS:

  1. A valid driver's license in good standing is necessary.
  2. A reliable vehicle is required.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES (Essential):

  1. Expertise in analyzing and re-engineering operations and procedures, formulating policy, and developing and implementing new strategies and procedures.
  2. Proficient understanding of the Project Management Body of Knowledge.
  3. Ability to analyze complex issues, interpret operational needs, and devise integrated, innovative solutions.
  4. Capability to comprehend complex building plans, building codes, and permit requirements.
  5. Awareness of current trends and best practices in project management and related technologies.
  6. Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present effectively to both small and large audiences.
  7. Proven ability to successfully direct, coordinate, and strategically integrate multiple development, enhancement, and modification projects.
  8. Understanding of organizational structure, workflow, and operational procedures.
  9. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders.
  10. Demonstrated ability to develop and implement both short- and long-range systems, capacity, technology, and operational plans.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Assessing both exterior and interior aspects of buildings, including roofs and foundations, involves some lifting, sitting, driving, walking, and climbing ladders. Traveling to various sites and overseeing ongoing and new projects will require a variable amount of travel depending on workload and project assignments.
