About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Daycare Worker to join our team at Miles Of Smiles. As a key member of our childcare team, you will play a vital role in providing a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment for children to grow and develop.

Key Responsibilities
  • Childcare Program Development: Design and implement child-care programs that support and promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children.
  • Storytelling and Creative Expression: Engage children in activities that encourage creativity through storytelling, teaching songs, and preparing crafts.
  • Record Keeping and Reporting: Assist early childhood educators or supervisors in keeping records and preparing reports for parents, guardians, or supervisors.
  • Health and Safety: Plan and maintain an environment that protects the health, security, and well-being of children.
  • Supervision and Coordination: Supervise and co-ordinate activities of other early childhood educators and early childhood educator assistants.
Support for Diverse Groups
  • Support for Persons with Disabilities: Provide physical accessibility accommodations, visual accessibility accommodations, and auditory accessibility accommodations.
  • Support for Newcomers and Refugees: Participate in government or community programs that support newcomers and refugees, assist with immediate settlement needs, and support social and labour market integration.
  • Support for Youth: Participate in government or community programs that support youth employment, offer on-the-job training, and provide mentorship opportunities.
  • Support for Veterans: Participate in government or community programs that support Veterans, offer mentorship opportunities, and provide awareness training.
  • Support for Indigenous People: Participate in government or community programs that support Indigenous people, offer mentorship opportunities, and provide cultural competency training.
  • Support for Mature Workers: Participate in government or community programs that support mature workers, offer mentorship opportunities, and provide phased retirement options.
  • Support for Visible Minorities: Participate in government or community programs that support visible minorities, offer mentorship opportunities, and provide diversity and cross-cultural training.
Requirements
  • Education: College, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years.
  • Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a related field.
  • Language: English.
