Role Overview: The Senior Financial Planning Consultant will be instrumental in establishing and nurturing robust client relationships. Responsibilities include investment servicing, client retention, and promoting portfolio growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and expand a dedicated client portfolio while developing comprehensive financial strategies and delivering exceptional client service.
  • Collaborate closely with the Sales Development VP, product teams, and investment management to implement strategies that foster long-term client relationships.
  • Provide clients with regular updates on investment strategies, capital markets, and various aspects of their financial needs.
  • Develop tailored investment and financial planning strategies to help clients achieve their long-term financial objectives.
  • Utilize our financial planning software to create plans that address identified client needs and goals.
  • Continuously review and adjust client plans as significant life changes occur.
  • Ensure clients receive high-quality service, including meetings, planning, reporting, and timely responses to inquiries.
  • Proactively engage with existing clients to educate them on investment strategies, products, and services to enhance their portfolios.
  • Identify and pursue opportunities to gather additional client assets while maintaining client-centered discussions.
  • Mentor junior wealth advisors to cultivate a development pipeline.
  • Effectively communicate financial planning concepts in a clear and concise manner.
  • Possess a deep understanding of product structures, capital markets, and investment options.
  • Position suitable products and investments in alignment with clients' current needs and long-term financial plans.

Qualifications:

  • A University degree in Business, Commerce, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • 7+ years of experience in investment management and advising retail and high-net-worth clients.
  • Strong background in investment management and financial planning.
  • Bilingual in English/French is an asset.
  • Additional designations such as CFP or MBA are advantageous.
  • Must be licensed as a Registered Representative (RR) and able to sell both mutual funds and securities.
  • Registered as a Portfolio Manager (PM) or the ability to obtain such registration is a plus.
