About the RoleThis is a permanent, full-time role that will enjoy hybrid working arrangements which can be fulfilled primarily from the Vancity head office location and your Lower Mainland based home office. Periodically, you'll be required to attend in-person activities or events.
A typical day would involve:
- Reporting and Analysis: Establishing a business partner relationship with senior leaders of the respective line of business, providing financial reporting and analysis to enable informed decision making.
- Financial Modeling: Establishing and monitoring key revenue (where applicable) and expense drivers on an ongoing basis and provide forecasting, planning, and analytical support through the development of the aggregate financial plan. In addition, you will be maintaining an accurate and up-to-date view of the business' financial performance and providing analysis and advice to the enterprise on initiatives.
- Relationship Building: Acting in a concierge role to broker other services from the Finance division to senior leaders through identification of needs and opportunities.
- Financial Risk Management: Integrating risk management processes as they relate to achieving Vancity's long and short-term financial goals in order to ensure the ongoing identification, monitoring, and assessment of the risks of not achieving these goals.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Economics, or Business Administration from a recognized post-secondary institution (or equivalent)
- Professional Designation: Chartered Professional Accountant (Canada) designation or equivalent
- Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience at a senior consultant level or higher, would be an asset
- Business Acumen: Business acumen in the context of the financial industry, would be an asset.
- Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Communication and interpersonal skills to create clear understanding of expectations, address challenges and issues for the business unit; and represent the unit across the organization.
- Knowledge of Related Finance Concepts: Knowledge of related finance concepts, practices and techniques
- Planning and Coordination Skills: Planning and coordination skills to develop operating plans, processes, methods and standards for a unit and to coordinate delivery of programs and services.
- Problem Solving and Decision-Making Skills: Problem solving and decision-making skills to diagnose challenges and issues; develop innovative business solutions; and to assess risks and opportunities that may affect the unit and or designated unit.
- Research and Analytical Skills: Research and analytical skills to assess and recommend course of action on trends, and to identify risks and opportunities that may impact the unit.
Vancity offers a competitive compensation package, including:
- Salary: $81,200 to $101,600
- Benefits: Attractive benefit packages that can be customized and changed each year to meet their evolving needs.
- Vacation Time: New employees receive between three to four weeks of vacation allowance per calendar year, and the number of vacation days grows — to a maximum of six weeks per year — as their length of service increases. In addition, full-time, permanent staff may be able to purchase extra days of vacation through our flexible benefits package.
- Statutory Holidays: In addition to the 10 statutory holidays in British Columbia, Vancity provides an additional three statutory holidays. We offer care days for periods of short-term personal illness or emergency family illness, plus opportunities to take unpaid leave for a variety of reasons.
- Health Care and Dental Benefits: Our health care & dental benefits offer three levels of health care and dental coverage for you to select from. These benefits will also be effective immediately based on your hire date.
