Position Overview

As the Technical Support Specialist, you will be based in our Vancouver office and serve as a vital support resource for users of our fleet management and mine production software, Micromine Pitram. Your role will be crucial in fostering customer relationships and ensuring their ongoing satisfaction.

Reporting to the Head of the Micromine Pitram Business Unit, your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering support via phone, email, and in-person interactions for license holders.
  • Facilitating training sessions for clients and internal staff, both in-person and online.
  • Assisting with the implementation of Micromine Pitram across the Americas and globally as needed.
  • Addressing enhancement requests, bugs, and development challenges.
  • Conducting BETA testing for new versions and products to evaluate improved functionalities.
  • Collaborating with the Sales team during technical demonstrations, trade shows, and other promotional events.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will possess a solid background in help desk support, technical assistance, or training roles.

Key skills, experience, and qualifications include:

  • A degree in Information Technology, Mechatronics, Mining Engineering, Geology, or a related field
  • Proficiency in networking and database technologies, such as SQL and Oracle.
  • Experience in conducting training sessions for clients
  • Strong skills in building and maintaining customer relationships
  • Willingness to travel domestically or internationally for Micromine Pitram implementations (approximately 20-25% of the year)
  • Previous experience in the Mining sector is advantageous but not mandatory
  • Must reside in Greater Vancouver; remote candidates will not be considered
