Job Summary:

The Canadian Red Cross is seeking a skilled and compassionate Healthcare Assistant - Community Support to join our team. As a key member of our Health Equipment Loan Program, you will play a vital role in supporting the health and well-being of individuals in our communities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work collaboratively with the Service Centre Supervisor to coordinate the day-to-day delivery of the Health Equipment Loan Program, ensuring seamless support to clients.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date inventory records, including loans, returns, and statistics, in accordance with program policies and procedures.
  • Provide administrative support, including managing the front desk, processing financial transactions, and ensuring timely and accurate information flow to the public.
  • Support other Red Cross initiatives as needed, contributing to a coordinated team effort to meet the needs of vulnerable individuals in our communities.

Requirements:

  • Completion of post-secondary education or diploma in a health-related field, with one to three years of job-related work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to prioritize and organize multiple tasks simultaneously in a complex client-based environment.
  • Sound decision-making abilities, combined with strong organizational skills, are essential.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and oral, in English and French are mandatory.
  • Demonstrated computer proficiency and administrative skills.
  • Previous experience working with volunteers or seniors is considered an asset.
  • Ability to perform medium to heavy lifting.
