About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Assistant Project Manager to join our team at EllisDon. As a key member of our project management team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the successful delivery of our projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and analyze financial data to ensure positive cash flow for projects
  • Provide technical engineering information to employees and subcontractors to ensure project compliance with engineering standards, codes, specifications, and design instructions
  • Assist in plan and specification analysis to provide clear, trackable, and coordinated interpretations of the design/drawings for construction
  • Evaluate and solve potential field problems and report them to the Project Manager
  • Understand and perform document control functions, including tracking and creating of RFI's, transmitting and tracking of submittals, composing agreements, and maintaining project expediting lists

Requirements

  • Civil construction-related degree and 2-4 years of civil earthworks experience or an equivalent combination of technical training and experience
  • 4-6 years of experience in heavy civil earthworks, road building, and underground utilities is an asset
  • Working knowledge of scheduling, project management, and contract software
  • Ability to travel between multiple sites
  • Capacity to support the project team and help solve construction issues in time-sensitive situations
