Payroll Service Associate

Thompson Rivers University is seeking a highly skilled Payroll Service Associate to join our team. As a key member of our payroll department, you will be responsible for processing payroll, ensuring accuracy and compliance with government regulations, and providing exceptional customer service to employees and managers.
Key Responsibilities- Process payroll for all employee groups, including bi-weekly pay, benefits, and pension plans.
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of payroll data, including timesheets, earnings, and deductions.
- Comply with government regulations, collective agreements, and internal policies and procedures.
- Provide exceptional customer service to employees and managers, responding to inquiries and resolving issues in a timely and professional manner.
- Collaborate with other departments, including Human Resources and Finance, to ensure seamless payroll processing.
- Grade 12 plus two (2) years related post-secondary education; plus one (1) year specialized Canadian Payroll Association certification (or equivalent courses).
- Five (5) years payroll experience in a complex, multi-functional environment, including benefits and pension plan functions.
- Ability to plan, organize, and prioritize work with multiple demands and deadlines.
- Accurate processing skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
Sitting at a desk and computer for long periods of time. General office conditions.
