Job Title: Payroll Clerk

Lii Michif Otipemisiwak Family and Community Services is seeking a skilled Payroll Clerk to join our team. As a Payroll Clerk, you will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks related to payroll administration, including calculating and preparing cheques, preparing statements of earnings, and maintaining payroll records.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Calculate and prepare cheques for payroll
  • Prepare statements of earnings for employees, indicating gross and net salaries and deductions such as taxes, union dues, garnishments and insurance and pension plans
  • Maintain payroll records, including employee attendance, leave and overtime
  • Prepare T4 statements and other statements
  • Perform data entry and receive payments
  • Manage accounts receivable and ensure accuracy of completed time sheets, payroll and other summaries
Requirements:
  • 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in payroll administration
  • Knowledge of human resources software, MS Excel, MS Word, and MS Windows
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Reliability, flexibility, and a team player attitude
