Job Description

Leveragetek is seeking a highly skilled Bilingual Desktop Engineer to join its team on a 12-month contract basis.

Work Location

The successful candidate will be required to work on-site at the customer's headquarters in Montreal, QC.

Language Requirements

Bilingual in French and English is essential.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Provide Level 2 technical support to clients' end-users, encompassing network, mobile devices, desktops, laptops, peripherals, and more.
  2. Maintain standard software configurations, including troubleshooting, loading, and configuring software images, supported applications, and drivers.
  3. Participate in IT projects as required.
  4. Install, support, and troubleshoot approved desktop software when remote support is not possible.
  5. Provide onsite support services to clients.
  6. Offer feedback and recommendations to appropriate teams for any process improvements identified.
  7. Demonstrate good judgment with defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action.
  8. Ability to work on call after hours as required.
  9. Communicate effectively with multiple clients and co-workers.
  10. Able to communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical personnel.
  11. Provide status updates to management and end-users on applicable issues.
  12. Provide smartphone support and diagnostics to remote clients.
  13. Escalate unresolved issues to management promptly.
  14. Provide feedback and recommendations for KBA (Knowledge Based Articles).

Key Qualifications

  1. 1 year experience supporting Microsoft Windows operating systems and supporting Active Directory administration/troubleshooting.
  2. 1 year experience installing, configuring, using, and troubleshooting supported versions of Microsoft Office.
  3. 1 year experience supporting and troubleshooting local area network (LAN) and VPN connectivity issues.

Qualifications

  1. Experience providing professional assistance to external clients experiencing hardware technical problems with supported desktops, laptops, peripherals, and more.
  2. Experience assisting other support teams with onsite troubleshooting (hands and feet), for example, assisting Network Operations troubleshoot connectivity issues.
  3. Experience troubleshooting and replacing network gear, switches, routers, and other network hardware replacements.
  4. Experience confirming network connectivity to newly deployed devices.
  5. Experience removing hardware as required.
  6. Experience preparing client hardware for surplus processes.
  7. Experience providing onsite support to VIP groups, including mobile devices. Assist with remote support when required.
  8. Experience participating in connect/reconnects (move) projects.

Assets

  1. Associate's Degree or equivalent certification and experience. A+ Certification recommended, MCTS, MCITP, ITIL Certification are strong assets.
  2. Experience working in a corporate environment.

Special Conditions

  1. Valid driver's license.
  2. Ability to travel as required.
  3. Ability to work on call after hours as required.
  4. Ability to lift 50lbs (printers, desktop machines, etc.).
