About the Role

The Director, Talent Acquisition is a key leadership position responsible for leading the talent acquisition function at Sun Life Financial in Canada. This role requires a strong leader who can drive change through innovative ideas, leverage technology, and metrics to enable the organization to find and hire top talent while delivering exceptional experiences to candidates and business leaders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and execution of recruitment strategies to proactively source and recruit top talent for the organization.
  • Develop and maintain partnerships with internal stakeholders to understand business needs and emerging trends.
  • Design and implement talent acquisition strategies to source, attract, hire, and/or redeploy talent to address organizational needs.
  • Manage the talent acquisition operation by leveraging KPIs and coaching the team to drive time and process efficiencies while balancing great candidate and hiring manager experiences.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in Human Resources, preferably leading and managing a talent acquisition function in a large matrixed organization.
  • Experience managing remote teams and leading the adoption of change initiatives, adoption of technology, and building up of consulting skills.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills, with hands-on coaching and mentoring experience.
  • Expertise in talent acquisition best practices and ability to adapt practices based on environmental considerations.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to develop and nurture productive business relationships.
  • Demonstrated ability to produce quality work in a collaborative, fast-paced matrixed environment, balancing high production with delivery of long-term objectives.
  • Knowledge of current talent trends and market intelligence.
  • Lean management experience/continuous improvement mindset.

Assets

  • BA/BS degree in Human Resources, business administration, or related field.
  • CHRL designation.
  • Bilingual (English & French).

Salary Range: $105,000 - $150,000
