Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Metal Fabrication Specialist to join our team at GP Custom Metals Inc. This is a permanent position that requires proficiency in various welding techniques and the ability to work in a dynamic environment.

  • Completion of secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • Equivalent experience may be considered

Key Responsibilities
  • Interpret and apply welding process specifications
  • Operate manual, semi-automatic, and fully automated welding machinery
  • Read and analyze welding blueprints, drawings, specifications, and manuals
  • Inspect welds to ensure compliance with standards
  • Utilize manual or semi-automatic flame-cutting tools
  • Fit, braze, and torch-straighten metal components
  • Assess the weldability of various materials
  • Handle hoisting and lifting equipment
  • Fabricate or repair metal parts using set-up welding machines
  • Bond metals using brazing or soldering machines
  • Perform minor maintenance and repairs on welding equipment
Materials and Equipment
  • Experience with stainless steel, steel, iron, and heavy metals
  • Familiarity with various welding machines including arc, gas, and soldering machines
