Job Summary

GP Custom Metals Inc. is seeking a skilled Welder - Fabrication Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our fabrication department, you will be responsible for interpreting welding process specifications, operating manual or semi-automatic welding equipment, and ensuring that welds meet standards and specifications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Interpret Welding Process Specifications
    • Read and interpret welding blueprints, drawings, specifications, manuals, and processes to ensure accurate fabrication and repair of metal parts and products.
  • Operate Welding Equipment
    • Operate manual or semi-automatic, fully automated welding equipment to fabricate or repair metal parts and products.
  • Ensure Quality Standards
    • Examine welds and ensure that they meet standards and/or specifications.
  • Maintain Equipment
    • Maintain and perform minor repairs on welding, brazing, and soldering equipment.
Requirements
  • Education
    • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Experience
    • 3 years to less than 5 years of experience in welding or a related field.
  • Skills
    • Manual dexterity.
    • Attention to detail.
    • Hand-eye coordination.
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
    • Ability to handle heavy loads.
Work Environment

The work environment is dusty, hot, noisy, and may involve odors. The work setting is a manufacturing environment.
