Role Summary:

The Robotics and Space Operations (RSO) division is seeking a Director of Subcontract Program Management to spearhead the successful execution of subcontract activities across a diverse array of programs and strategic initiatives. This role is integral to achieving MDA's operational and strategic objectives.

The Director will be a key member of the operations leadership team, reporting directly to the Vice President of Operations. This position entails providing strategic direction for the subcontract program management function, facilitating prioritization and planning, and collaborating with senior management to ensure effective subcontract execution.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and maintain a robust subcontract program management framework, ensuring alignment with cross-company PMO practices.
  2. Lead cross-functional Integrated Subcontracts Program Management Teams, collaborating with various departments to achieve cost, schedule, and technical performance goals.
  3. Oversee the quality and value of each subcontract, engaging in the intake process and collaborating with program managers.
  4. Establish a subcontract program management organization that meets customer requirements while negotiating resource allocations with functional and program managers.
  5. Set and monitor subcontract program cost and schedule baselines, utilizing Earned Value Management techniques.
  6. Ensure all program management deliverables are met through measurable outcomes and performance metrics.
  7. Conduct comprehensive risk and opportunity management practices.
  8. Foster a high-performance culture within the subcontract program management team through effective leadership and coaching.
  9. Develop and implement training and mentoring plans for team members.
  10. Assess and enhance the maturity of subcontract project management practices across the organization.

Qualifications:

  1. A bachelor's degree or higher in a related field.
  2. Over 10 years of relevant experience, including a minimum of 5 years in subcontract program management leadership.
  3. Demonstrated success in managing complex subcontract programs with cross-functional teams.
  4. Experience with large-scale subcontracts involving significant engineering and development activities.
  5. Strong financial management and budgeting skills.
  6. Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and negotiation abilities.
  7. Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively within a high-performing team.
