Job Summary

The City of Brampton is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Youth Hub Program Director to lead the strategic direction and operations of the youth hub. This is a part-time, seasonal, and temporary position that requires a strong background in youth development, mental health services, and community services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Strategic Planning: Develop and implement the strategic vision and goals for the youth hub, ensuring alignment with the City's strategic goals and specific community youth needs.
  • Program Development: Oversee the planning, execution, and evaluation of specialized youth programs and services, ensuring they are innovative, engaging, and meet the developmental needs of participants.
  • Team Management: Manage and support a team of staff, including instructors and specialists, providing guidance, professional development, and performance evaluations.
  • Financial Management: Ensure the financial sustainability of the hub by developing budgets and managing resources effectively.
  • Community Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with community partners and stakeholders to support the hub's initiatives and expand its reach.
  • Policies and Procedures: Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure the safety, mental well-being, and holistic development of all participants and staff.
  • Marketing and Outreach: Lead targeted marketing and outreach efforts to promote the youth hub and increase community engagement and participation.
  • Program Evaluation: Monitor and report on program outcomes, community impact, and operational efficiency to stakeholders, with a focus on youth development metrics.
  • Professional Development: Stay informed about trends and best practices in youth development, mental health, and career readiness, and incorporate innovative approaches to enhance the hub's offerings.
Requirements
  • Leadership Experience: At least 3 years of experience in a leadership role within youth development, mental health services, community services, or a related field.
  • Strategic Planning: Strong strategic planning and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple specialized projects and priorities effectively.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and inspire staff, participants, and community stakeholders.
  • Financial Management: Financial management skills, including budgeting and resource allocation.
  • Commitment to Diversity: Commitment to creating a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment for all youth participants.
  • Community Connections: A strong network of community connections and an understanding of local resources and youth needs.
  • Flexibility: Flexibility to work part-time up to 24 hours/week, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
