Position Overview

The Solution Architect plays a crucial role in establishing and conveying a unified technical and architectural vision across a Solution / Release Train, aligning with the overarching Informatics technology strategy and principles. This ensures that the system or solution being developed meets its intended objectives effectively.

This role involves collaboration with product managers, product line leaders, and business stakeholders to facilitate the design and development of a cohesive view of business processes and the related business landscape. The aim is to identify both current and future opportunities for optimization, integration, and knowledge sharing.

The Solution Architect will work closely with enterprise architects and fellow solution architects to realize the domain vision, promoting platform thinking, reusability, and interoperability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic consultation to assigned line-of-business (LOB) clients in defining or designing business processes, functions, and organizational structures, while utilizing customer requirements to research and identify enabling technologies.
  • Evaluate the current state of solutions, define future state requirements, identify gaps, and recommend new technology solutions and strategic business execution enhancements.
  • Facilitate stakeholder sessions across all company disciplines to identify and define requirements, assess business processes, and evaluate technology solutions.
  • Conduct research on solution architecture, including Proofs of Concept (PoCs), Proofs of Value (PoVs), feasibility assessments, and facilitate solution application selections.
  • Develop business and logical data architectures, as well as solution architectures that encompass software, network, hardware, and integration designs.
  • Engage in business process engineering, re-engineering, and conducting impact assessments with mitigation plans.
  • Collaborate closely with Enterprise Architects to define long-term architectural vision and integration patterns, while reviewing the technical portfolio.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive Solution Architecture documentation.
  • Develop IT Strategy & Roadmap that aligns with the strategic needs of the business division.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, systems analysis, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 7-10 years of professional IT experience with a proven ability to think strategically and translate plans into operational excellence.
  • In-depth expertise and business knowledge in the Pharma/Biotech/Dia/information industry and associated processes.
  • Experience with major applications such as Salesforce platforms or other CRM software packages.
  • Familiarity with IQVIA / OCE is highly desirable.
  • Hands-on experience with CRM projects for Life Sciences or Biotech companies.
  • Proficient in building solutions using VisualForce, APEX, Lightning Web Components, Web Services, and APIs.
  • Experience in cross-system integrations within the Salesforce ecosystem, as well as first-party APIs and data centers.
  • Strong understanding of core web technologies including HTML5, Javascript, and jQuery.
  • Software engineering experience with Platform (Apex, VisualForce, SOQL, Unit Testing) and Java SE & EE.
  • Demonstrated experience with relational databases, data modeling, and ETL tools.
  • Familiarity with Agile development methodologies such as XP/SCRUM.
  • Expertise in web services (REST & SOAP, JSON & XML).
  • Ability to quickly grasp the functions and capabilities of new technologies.
  • Proven leadership skills and experience in managing large teams.
  • Exceptional oral, written, public, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to frame complex issues and persuade a diverse audience.
