Job Title: Geological Technician

GroundTruth Exploration Inc is seeking a skilled Geological Technician to join our team. As a Geological Technician, you will play a critical role in collecting, cataloging, and interpreting geologic data to support our exploration programs.

Job Overview

The successful candidate will work closely with our exploration geologists to collect and analyze geologic data, ensuring accurate and timely documentation and presentation of results. This role requires strong physical stamina, as you will be working in various terrain and weather conditions, including extreme temperatures and remote locations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collect and analyze geologic data, including prospecting, geologic mapping, and sample preparation.
  • Assist geologists in quality control and quality assurance programs.
  • Organize and manage sample shipments.
  • Ensure a safe and effective worksite, adhering to all safety protocols and procedures.
  • Perform daily work tasks as outlined by the Project Geologist.
Camp Responsibilities
  • Manage and maintain a sanitary, safe, and organized camp environment.
  • Collaborate with camp members to share in camp upkeep and daily chores.
  • Maintain and care for all camp and GroundTruth field gear.
Safety Responsibilities
  • Report all hazards, near misses, and incidents.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures.
  • Participate in daily safety meetings and emergency response plans.
Working Conditions

The Geological Technician position requires working in various terrain and weather conditions, including extreme temperatures and remote locations. Employees will be working and living in close quarters with the rest of their crew for the duration of the project. Communication outside of camp may be limited due to lack of cellphone service and satellite internet.

Lifting and Physical Requirements

This role requires a high degree of physical strength and stamina, including lifting up to 50 Lbs. unassisted, repetitive bending, and hiking on uneven terrain for extended periods.

Required Gear

Employees will be required to supply personal gear, including a sleeping bag, work clothes, underlayers, headgear, work gloves, full rain gear, and a Leatherman or similar multi-tool knife.
