Position Overview

Role Summary

The Finance Department is integral in providing financial guidance and support to the Corporation, ensuring the successful execution of the Council's Strategic Plan. The Performance Analyst (PA) serves as the primary financial resource for designated operational departments. This role may involve working closely with a specific business area to enhance service delivery. The PA is responsible for offering essential business planning, analytical insights, and financial advisory services to the management teams overseeing City programs and services. This position plays a crucial role in ensuring adherence to the City's financial policies and procedures.

Educational Requirements
  • A four-year University Degree in Business Administration, Commerce, Economics, or a related discipline.
  • Progress towards obtaining a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation is preferred.
Experience Requirements
  • A minimum of three years of relevant experience in a similar role.
Skills and Competencies
  • Familiarity with Public Sector Accounting Board Standards and the Municipal Performance Measurement Program (MPMP).
  • Proven ability to:
    • Engage effectively with all levels of staff.
    • Develop and implement Key Performance Indicators in a public sector context.
    • Travel to various locations as necessary.
  • Intermediate proficiency in analytical, interpersonal, organizational, project management, and written communication skills.
  • Competence in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Willingness to attend meetings outside of standard working hours when required.

  • A satisfactory Criminal Record Check is mandatory for new hires.
