Position Summary: We are seeking an Integrated Pest Management (IPM) Consultant to support greenhouse producers in achieving healthy, pest-free crops. This role involves conducting detailed field assessments, diagnosing pest-related challenges, and proposing sustainable pest management strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform regular inspections of greenhouse crops to track pest populations.
  • Identify and document pest species, diseases, and beneficial organisms.
  • Evaluate crop health and assess potential pest threats.
  • Utilize field guides and microscopes for accurate pest identification.
  • Formulate and suggest tailored IPM strategies for individual growers.
  • Advise on the implementation of biological control measures and non-chemical pest management techniques.
  • Analyze data from IPM Scouts to assess financial risks and impacts.
  • Provide training and support to growers and their teams on effective IPM practices.
  • Conduct educational workshops and demonstrations on pest management.
  • Collaborate with the R&D team to stay informed about the latest pest management innovations.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Entomology, Plant Science, Agronomy, or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of 4 years of experience in pest management or a similar role.
  • Proficient in using diagnostic tools for pest identification.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Valid driver's license and readiness to travel as required.
