Job Overview

The Automotive Integration Specialist will be responsible for defining customer expectations, establishing technical goals, and executing development and validation assessments for a designated vehicle initiative. Leading a specific functional area such as Body, Interior, or Electrical, this role will manage the development and implementation within that functional domain for a particular vehicle project. By establishing Vehicle Functional Objectives and Validation Plans (DVP&R), the specialist will significantly contribute to the integration of new features and participate in technical forums to ensure uniform execution across different vehicle models.

Furthermore, the specialist will spearhead the issue resolution process, forming cross-disciplinary engineering teams to identify underlying causes and develop corrective action strategies. This position will also involve leading or assisting in ride and drive events, overnight assessments, validation excursions, and pilot build tasks.

Key Responsibilities
Daily tasks for this role include, but are not limited to:

  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to relay performance updates and address issue resolution
  • Participating in hands-on vehicle activities such as testing, inspection, and analysis
  • Conducting benchmarking of internal fleets or competitive models
  • Working with workshops to oversee vehicle modifications
  • Monitoring vehicle performance advancements using internal scorecards and systems
  • Providing updates to senior management during weekly escalation meetings

Qualifications
To be considered for this position, candidates should possess:

  • A Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in automotive product development
  • Experience with automotive components, systems, or vehicles
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.)
  • Excellent communication skills across all levels, with the ability to distill complex technical issues into clear conclusions and recommendations
  • A collaborative spirit, capable of building strong working relationships and achieving consensus
  • Self-driven, able to manage multiple tasks, and prioritize effectively
  • A valid driver's license
