Community Support Services Worker

Are you passionate about making a meaningful impact in your community?

We are seeking a Community Support Services Worker to join our team at The Mustard Seed in Medicine Hat. As a key member of our Community Impact Centre, you will play a vital role in developing and facilitating programs that support community members and partners.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the development and facilitation of programs at the Medicine Hat Community Impact Centre
  • Oversee the day-to-day facilitation, administration, and coordination of activities
  • Provide clear communication to volunteers and community participants
  • Maintain a safe and welcoming environment for participants and volunteers
  • Assist with site security walks and enforce participant suspensions when necessary
  • Aid in the development, implementation, and facilitation of programs that align with The Mustard Seed's mandate
  • Assist in ensuring all volunteers have the appropriate training for the programs they are involved in
  • Collect data and generate reports on statistics as required
  • Build and nurture relationships with external partners and stakeholders
  • Maintain inventory of materials and equipment

Requirements:

  • An undergraduate degree in Social Work or related field or equivalent level of experience
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience working in community development initiatives
  • Experience developing creative solutions to complex challenges and problems
  • Demonstrated effective conflict management, networking, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Experience in Microsoft Office Suite
