Job Title: Health Care Assistant Instructor

Edison College Canada is seeking a qualified instructor to teach our Health Care Assistant Diploma Program. As a Clinical Instructor, you will be responsible for delivering instruction that meets the course competencies and program objectives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver instruction that meets the course competencies and program objectives.
  • Evaluate student performance in a timely manner.
  • Enhance the program by leveraging industry contacts for the benefit of students' practical training and employment.
  • As a Clinical Instructor, you will be responsible for taking students on a Multi-Level/complex Care Practicum.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Current unrestricted full registration as a licensed practical nurse, registered nurse or registered psychiatric nurse with the BC College of Nurses and Midwives.
  • Demonstrated ability to teach adult learners.
  • Two or more years of full-time Canadian nursing experience with relevant knowledge of the Canadian health care system.
  • Evidence of completion of course work in Indigenous cultural safety and humility.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Nursing work experience in working with older adults with complex health needs.
  • Experience or orientation in-home support and multi-level/complex care.
Skills and Abilities:
  • Relevant industry skills and knowledge relating to the area of instruction.
  • Interest in pedagogical and multi-modal education approaches.
  • Advanced oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to motivate and inspire students.
Work Environment:

Work Location: In person

Schedule: Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM- 3:00 PM

Flexible Language Requirement: French not required
