Position Overview
The Automotive Parts Specialist plays a crucial role in addressing the parts needs of both customers and technicians. This is achieved through effective communication and sales strategies via over-the-counter and telephone interactions.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist customers, both internal and external, with their automotive parts inquiries.
- Ensure customers are informed about the full range of products and accessories available.
- Adhere to cash handling procedures and maintain accuracy in transactions.
- Verify that parts are checked against delivery notes and properly organized.
- Pack and load parts accurately, maintaining thorough dispatch documentation.
- Report any stock discrepancies or damages to the Parts Manager.
- Ensure returned units are clean and properly processed.
- Maintain and update product displays as necessary.
- Participate in stock audits as required.
- Keep the work area clean and organized.
- Foster positive relationships with suppliers.
- Engage in training to stay updated on new products and industry trends.
- Perform additional tasks as directed by management.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least two years of experience in a retail automotive parts environment.
- Familiarity with CDK and/or Reynolds and Reynolds software systems.
- Ability to comprehend and follow instructions effectively.
- Adaptability to a dynamic work environment.
- Professional demeanor and friendly attitude.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and time management skills.
- Attention to detail is essential.
